Good morning church,

Now there will come a time in each of our lives when we need to make a switch, a switch from living in our own power, trying to satisfy our own self to living in God’s power with a desire and power to do what pleases God.  Philippians 2:13 says, God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”(NLT)  God is working. The Greek word is ‘energos’, from which we get the word “energy”.  Meaning, God is the energy in our life giving us the desire and the power to please him.  Now, not only is God in you as the ‘energos’ he is also with you. The Bible says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you . . . On that day you will realize that I am in my father, and you are in me, and I am in you”(John 14:18, 20 NIV).  This is an incredible promise, it means for the Devil to get to you, he needs to get through the Trinity.

The third truth is that not only God is in you and with you, but God is also for you. This means his intentions are to build you up in Him.  Now we may not feel that way all the time as we go through turbulence of varying nature.  Yet, God works all things together!  Romans 8:31 says, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Are we ready to make that change in life?  Are we ready to switch from living in our own power, to satisfy our own self to living in God’s power with a desire and power to do what pleases God?  Let us ask God to do His powerful work in our hearts, through the redeeming work of His Spirit, to allow us to switch our allegiance from ourselves to Him.  Let us wake-up every morning and say, “God thank you that you are with me today, you are in me today and you are for me today and if you are with me, in me and for me, who can be against me”.  This prayer will help get rid of fear of whatever we are facing in life.  Remember, the anchor holds!

Be encouraged,
Mathews
