Untitled design-7

Dear Church,

It was so good to see so many first-time visitors yesterday.  Yesterday we stood in Psalm 139 and heard David sing “For you created my innermost being you knit me together in my mother’s womb… I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps 139:13–14).  Let that rest on you this Monday.  Before anyone had an opinion about you, Before you had an opinion about you, the Father already had a design and a purpose for you. You were not mass-produced; you were hand-woven.

Of course, there is another voice. The voice of the Devil.  Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (Jn 10:10).  Wherever the enemy twists what God made, confusing identity, bending desires, chaining us to old habits and justifying sin.  Be watchful of him, like a prowling lion he comes to devour. Of late, so many among us are struggling with spiritual attacks.  Be watchful!

So here is our posture this week: not hiding but inviting. The psalm that begins with “You have searched me” and ends with our prayer, “Search me, O God… see if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting” (Ps 139:23–24).  Each morning, whisper verse 14 over your life. Each evening, open your heart with verses 23–24. Let the One who knows you best lead you best.

If you’re wrestling, you’re not alone.  Reach out.  We will pray with you and walk with you, because the God who formed you is the God who keeps you.  His thoughts toward you are more than the sand, and when you wake, He is still with you (Ps 139:17–18).

Be Encouraged,
Mathews
