Dear church,

Jesus said, “ALL the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matt 22:40).  Meaning if you take the content of every law stated in the Bible and every word that the prophets spoke that came from God, it boils down to these two commandments. Jesus said, the first and the greatest command is “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and he said the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Every imaginable identity and expression of a believer hangs on one word, LOVE!

See, when we love something, we prioritize it. We spend as much time possible with the object we love. Sometimes we compromise and sacrifice our time and resources to express our love.  Now, for a believer this is more important because our life in God is directly related to our abiding in Him, there is no Christian life outside our abiding in Christ.

Those who abide in his love become like Him, bearing much fruit. When we gaze upon His beauty, it changes us. When we give our time and attention to behold the Lord, we transform into His image.  Jesus is our hope of glory, He is the author and finisher of our faith, and He is the focal point of every moment of our life.

Be Encouraged,
Mathews
