Dear Church,

What a beautiful and joyful Sunday we had yesterday. It was a gift to see so many gather to celebrate our risen Savior. As I reflected on this, a thought stayed with me. Everyone is a Christian on Resurrection Sunday, but where is our faith the other 364 days? And then I thought what if every person who was there or even 10%  decided to share their faith/witness Christ intentionally ? We could reach thousands in a year.

That thought brought me to Philemon 1:6: 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.

This verse was an eye-opener for me. Paul is not simply saying, “I hope you talk about your faith more.” He is saying something much deeper. He is saying, the sharing of our faith, not just speaking, but living it, expressing it, stepping into it, becomes effectiveIt begins to do something. It changes people. It reveals Christ.

And then Paul says something unexpected, as we share, we come into the full knowledge of every good thing we have in Christ. In other words, you don’t fully understand your faith… until you begin to share it.

We often think we need to grow more before we witness Christ.  But Scripture turns that around, we grow as we Witness!

Something awakens in us when we step out. Our dependence on God deepens. Our love for Christ becomes more real. Our understanding of grace becomes more personal. We grow, sometimes even exponentially, as we share our faith with others.

So, Immanuel let us keep witnessing. Not out of pressure, but out of purpose. Because witnessing is one of God’s primary ways of deepening our faith and increasing our love for Him. The less we share, the more stagnant we can become. But the more we step out, the more alive our faith becomes.

The Christian life was never meant to be stored… it was meant to be shared.

Each one reach one,
Mathews
